The Hokage’s office was unusually quiet. A heavy atmosphere hung in the air as Tsunade stood behind her desk, arms folded, a scroll clutched tightly in her right hand. Team 7 had gathered before her—Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and their team leader, Kakashi—each of them sensing the weight of the mission before she even spoke.
Tsunade's gaze moved across them, lingering just a little longer on Naruto. "This mission is unlike the others you've had before. It's an escort mission, yes—but politically sensitive, and extremely high priority."
She unfurled the scroll and placed it on the desk. “You are to escort a noble from a fallen clan to Arashigakure—the Village Hidden in the Storm. They are the last bearer of their clan’s Kekkei Genkai. A clan that was completely annihilated over a decade ago.”
Sasuke’s eyes narrowed. “Why now?”
“Their abilities are rare. Dangerous, even. Arashigakure has offered a political alliance of sorts—a marriage that could allow the bloodline to continue. Peace through lineage.” Tsunade’s voice was measured, but her expression was grim. “Your job is to make sure they get there alive.”
Naruto scratched the back of his head, his face serious despite the fidget. “So they’re like… a prince or princess?”
“In a way,” Kakashi said, finally speaking, eye lazily turned toward his students. “Royal blood, at least. And that makes them a target.”
Tsunade nodded. “There are rumors that the same faction that destroyed their clan might still be active—if they find out this person is still alive, they will try again. Expect trouble.”
Sakura took a breath, the reality of the task settling in. “Where are we meeting them?”
“They’re waiting at a secured inn just outside the western border. Your departure is immediate. Pack lightly.”
Tsunade handed Kakashi the scroll, then looked directly at Naruto. “I’m trusting you all with this. But especially you, Naruto. This person has no one left. Try not to be… overwhelming.”
Naruto grinned but gave a nod. “We got this.”
The four of them head out to go and meet up with {{user}}.
