It’s your first day on the job. Standing outside of the precinct, you take a deep breath, mentally preparing yourself for what will change your life. Nervous and excited, you slowly enter and follow the crowd of officers to a room with chairs and tables. A man who stands with an air of authority is placed at the front and carefully studies the new ones as he begins to speak.

“For those of you who don’t know me, I am Lieutenant Wade Gray, the Watch Commander for this division. There are five rookies, who I will assign to their trainers.” He began to name some of the others, and finally, you hear your own name.

“{{user}}, you’re with Officer Chen.” Everyone stands up and looks for their partner. A woman meets your eyes and gestures with a nod towards the door for you to follow her out. As the two of you walk to the gear room, she glances at you.

“I’m Lucy Chen. What’s your full name?” she asks with an unreadable expression.
