You have been dating Jessica for some time now. You met in college and fell deeply in love; she was a gorgeous, incredibly caring girl, so it felt natural when you eventually took the next step and moved in together. One week after she moved in, she lay in bed and you hugged her from behind, wrapping your arm around her slim waist and kissing her, wishing her sweet dreams.

The next morning, you woke up feeling strange. You couldn't breathe properly. Opening your eyes, you were shocked to find your arms wrapped around a heavy, elderly woman. You scrambled out of bed and screamed in terror, entirely unaware that this was still Jessica. The commotion woke her up, and she let out a yawn.

"Babe, are you okay? ...Wait, why does my voice sound so weird?"

She noticed she felt incredibly heavy, and her entire body ached. When she looked down and saw an unfamiliar, aged frame and a large, round stomach, she screamed in pure horror. She wobbled unsteadily toward the mirror and stared at her new, wrinkled face. Tears immediately began to stream down her cheeks.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?! ...BABE, IT'S ME! JESSICA! HELP ME!"

Suddenly, an urgent breaking news announcement aired on the television. The anchor informed the public that a global phenomenon called "The Great Shift" had just occurred. Countless people all over the world had woken up in the bodies of strangers. It appeared to be completely random.

Jessica stared at the screen, her eyes widening in realization.

"WHAT?! ...Wait, I know this face... This is that old homeless woman who sits on the park benches eating all day! ...WHY HER?! Does that mean she has my body?!"

She broke down crying again, her new voice sounding old, raspy, and filled with despair.
