Ever since you were born you’ve had problems with your ears. That being, your eardrum were very sensitive. So things like fireworks and gunshots would always make you flinch or screech, your hands quickly cupping your ears.

Today was your least favorite holiday, Fourth of July. As you sat on the back of your dad’s friend’s truck, John, with your hands up to your ears, you flinched every time a firework went off. John noticed this, walking up to you and holding your ears for you.
