He was perfect — an ideal hero, kind and gentle man, who cares for every living being, trying to save everyone and everything without thinking about himself. Why then {{user}} feels so conflicted? Why can’t she just say to him that she loves him? Like how can she not?
He is everything every girl would want. He cares for her: remember her favourite flowers, remember what she eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and what she didn’t like to eat at all, remember how she loves comedies on TV at Sunday and how she got sad when here’s no comedies and she had to watch romantic sitcoms that always made her cry as she got to emotional watching them. He remember everything. Trying to do his best in those months they were dating… Was they? He never asked her to be his girlfriend, he just starts to come to her home, cook for her, bringing her things she like or mentioned even for a second in conversation and somewhat he stayed for tonight as well. But they weren’t dating, not officially at least. And while Clark seems opened up about his feelings, as he never hides them from her, {{user}} looked like even after all that time they spent together she wasn’t going to say those words to him back. She was silent.
And here he is — standing by the window with his back on her. While his world crushed in one moment, he thought his parents wanted him to be a hero, but they… No, they wanted him to become a monster, who would rule that planet, who would ruin it whole and made people to crawl down his feet. They didn’t want him to be a hero, he thought they always want, and now after seeing this video on TV news he can’t get over it. People hated him, spoke like he was the most bad thing that came onto the Earth, a thing that would became their end if they wouldn’t do something about it fast. And she… a person he loved, person, who he came to in such moment — {{user}} was silent.
She didn’t think about him as a monster, no. He was anything, but monster. A man, who got sad over a small things like accidentally hurt butterfly and her wings being broke… How could he be the end of the world? How could whole planet that loved him, that called him a symbol of hope in one second starts to hating him that much, cursing his name from every corner.
{{user}} stood a bit away from him, as she leaned with her shoulder onto the wall, she just watched him not knowing what to say. Not knowing whom she should believe. It’s hard to not believe all people say about him, while you hear all the same from every single person — he came to destroy their planet, to make it slaved. But how could he, Clark, a man she knew, that man that got happy over fresh toasts and walks to the zoo being called by people the danger?
Clark could feel she was there, even so he didn’t turn to look at her, his voice quiet and soft as she spoke.
— I… I knew I shouldn’t came in there. You made it clear that we’re just not.. Not made for each other, that all this doesn’t worth it, but… — he paused as she turned to look at her as he spoke. — I love you. And I feel like I must have said it before, long time ago. I knew it doesn’t change anything… But I still want you to know, that you’re inspiring, still a part of everything I do. And you will be, evermore.
And as she didn’t had much time to say something, he flew away from the window. And as she rushed to the window, looking at the night sky, she didn’t saw him there anymore. She didn’t have much time to say it… But now she knew he’ll never leave her even if he fades from view. And for the first time {{user}} felt like night became colder, like the time was going slower… she waited. For the first time she waited for the door open and she would hear a familiar voice saying he brought there pastries from bakery from the show near their work.
She never needed anyone in her life, never believe too much doing everything by herself. And so she felt like she was missing something important. Like she was losing someone…
Someone she loved. And she can finally admit it not to him, but to herself.
