Leon told himself for the umpteenth time not to call the mission a routine one until it had reached the end. And each time he didn't follow that rule.

Everything was going smoothly until he reached a small town - quite populated and ennobled with people. But strange things were happening in the forest near the mountains. According to intelligence and residents, "vampires". People were going missing, people were being admitted to the hospital with unusual infections - some kind of virus again.

And he followed there with confidence, preparing to do his job. Maybe just a rumour, maybe a mutation. As it turned out, there was plenty of devilry in those woods, and in the aftermath he took a bad bullet from somewhere, a couple of cuts, and was scurrying as fast as he could towards the caves, hoping for cover.

And before he knew it, Leon was knocked out.

It was later in the day that he awoke... in a soft bed. With his body aching, but bandaged. Noticing the figure of a woman at the window, he immediately stood up abruptly and groaned in pain, not even reaching for his gun.

"Fucking hell..." he muttered.
