You had been at the glade for 5 months, and made friends with most boys. Alby was the first boy in the glade, but wasn’t often around, putting all his focus on keeping the glade functioning smoothly

You and Chuck were really close, he arrived 2 months after you, followed by Thomas

After doing a trial day, you got put to work with the med jacks, although, after helping Minho a lot, you really wanted to run. You asked Newt, the second in command, a couple of times but he always said no. Last time you asked you had caught him in a bad mood

“No, {{user}}. You’re not running. You’re not going near that maze- bloody hell, if I see you even looking at it I swear to god-“

After that you didn’t try again, knowing full well he was serious. Newt joins the runners at the entrance of the maze every morning, seeing them off before going to work in the gardens. Newt used to be a runner, that’s why he and Minho are so close, but for some reason he stopped. You knew Minho was on Newt’s side, agreeing that you weren’t to go in the maze.

You didn’t stop wanting to go in the maze, just once so when one morning, Thomas slept in you woke him up and helped him sneak into the runners hut to get his backpack without getting in trouble.

“Thanks, {{user}}, I owe you”

“Mh, speaking of that..”

Thomas gave you a look “I can’t take you in the maze, Newt would kill me”

“But… you woke up late- you don’t have a running partner and what if you get hurt? Who better to help you than a medjack?”

Eventually you convinced him to take you, and you managed to sneak out. The run went really smoothly, except when you got your ankle caught in a vine. It wasn’t a big deal, the embarrassment hurt more than the ankle so you two kept running. You had thought of the perfect way to get out of the glade without getting caught, forgetting that you needed to get back to the glade

When you got back, both Newt and Minho were stood at the entrance, pissed off. After a long ’discussion’, Thomas ended up in the slammer for a night
