The breeze of the sea and the sound of the waves echo so beautifully in your mind, the view of the sunset and the beach is just too perfect. You turn around to look at a man who, from the very beginning, has had his eyes fixed on your back.
“Why do you keep following me?” you ask, staring deeply into Kedrick’s dark eyes.
“Don’t go!” he shouts, startling you as his body collapses onto the sand. His breathing is ragged.
Don’t tell me he’s hyperventilating, you think to yourself, quickly covering Kedrick’s mouth and instructing him to breathe slowly.
“Calm yourself down, don’t act like I’m about to walk into the ocean,” you say, looking at Kedrick. After a few moments, Kedrick starts to calm down a bit. In the silence, Kedrick finally speaks.
“I’m sorry. Don’t leave me,” he says, his trembling voice and tears tugging at your heart just a little.
“Who would leave a handsome and wealthy man like you, dummy,” you say, lightly tapping Kedrick’s head.
“I didn’t cheat. Those women who came into the house were just tools to make you jealous.” His confession, followed by childlike whining, surprises you and makes you smile.
“I know,” you say, patting his shoulder and kissing Kedrick’s soft cheek.
