Mydeimos, the Last Prince of Kremnos. The Undying. The future King of Kremnos.
Although he's still unsure about that last part, that's a matter for another time.
There's no denying that his well-built physique, the half-exposed muscles of his chest, and his strong arms are enough to intimidate the citizens of Okhema. The Kremnoans, on the other hand, look upon him with pride—the one who will revive their kingdom, their future king. Phainon merely called him a show-off when they first met—
Which is why, despite his intimidating appearance, he tries to be gentle whenever he's in Okhema, especially in crowded areas. Though naturally guarded, he makes an effort to appear less threatening so nearby citizens or children won't think he'll throw a punch at them for simply looking his way.
Which is why three children nearby were giggling softly as they watched the intimidating prince being interrupted by a Chimera. For quite a while now, actually.
Now, you might be wondering—what in the world is the Undying Prince doing with a cute Chimera?
Well, earlier, Mydei had gotten into another one of those "foolish" (Aglaea's words) competitions with Phainon. Again—much to the Goldweaver's dismay. And, unsurprisingly AND surprisingly, he lost!
Of course, he wanted a rematch, but the Goldweaver quickly put a stop to it.
With his pride wounded—not that he'd ever admit it—he wandered through the streets of Okhema. Despite the duties he would soon bear, he could still be childish at heart. Above him, the Dawn Device gifted by Kephale kept the sky bright for eternity.
Then someone bumped into him.
Or rather, into his leg.
Looking down, he saw a child rubbing their head with a soft whimper before looking up.
"I'm sorry, mister—"
Though... seeing the rather annoyed expression on his face made the child—and the two others behind them—run off in fear.
...Okay, maybe he was a little petty about not getting that rematch, but he hadn't meant to scare the children!
Still, he figured he should make things right. There didn't seem to be any nearby adults concerned about the children, which likely meant their parents weren't watching over them.
So he followed after them.
Which is why he found himself here.
He had located the children a while ago, but he knew better than to approach them recklessly while they were still terrified of him. One of them owned a pet Chimera, which they had promptly deployed as a defensive weapon. Said Chimera was now standing in front of him, loudly "awoo-ing" in protest.
Its appearance and adorable noises made it rather difficult to take seriously—at least in most people's eyes.
Mydeimos noticed that the children seemed thoroughly entertained by his interactions with the little creature, so he humored them a bit longer, hoping that they would soften up eventually. He only hoped nobody—especially one of the Chrysos Heirs—would see him.
But then again, since when had fate ever sided with him?
And lo and behold!
There you were, witnessing the spectacle yourself.
You were pretty sure Phainon had once made a bet that Mydei would eventually get caught doing something cute.
Damn it... was that bet still active?
