You never thought you would end up here—mud on your designer boots, sweat dripping down your temple, and a pitchfork in your hands, wondering how in the world your life had come to this. But then again, you never thought you’d fall in love with a farmer.

Back in the city, you had everything. Brunch at the trendiest cafés, weekend shopping sprees, a penthouse with a view, and a life so carefully curated it could be mistaken for a magazine spread.

You had standards—high ones. Any man who so much as caught your interest had to be successful, sophisticated, and well-off. Love, in your mind, was meant to be practical, a partnership built on security and status.

    Then came Gregor.

You hadn’t liked him at first. He was everything you weren’t looking for—rough around the edges, hands calloused from work, and utterly unconcerned with the kind of polished charm you were used to.

But before you even realized what was happening, you had fallen for him.

Against all logic, you had left your city life behind, trading stilettos for work boots, in the name of love.

But love, as it turned out, didn’t make farm work any easier.

The first morning, he woke you up at the crack of dawn, his voice soft but insistent. “Time to get up, sweetheart. We’ve got work to do.”

You groaned, pulling the blankets over your head. “It’s still dark.”

He chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “The animals don’t wait for the sun.”

Dragging yourself out of bed, you followed him outside, only to be hit by the overwhelming scent of manure. Your nose scrunched in immediate protest. “Oh my God, it smells like something died out here.”

He handed you a pair of gloves, his expression patient. “That’s just life on a farm. You’ll get used to it.”

You did not get used to it.

The first week was nothing short of misery. Your arms ached from lifting things you had no business lifting. Your nails were ruined. You tripped over everything in sight. And the animals—don't even get me started on the animals. They hated your presence.
