It was always noisy at fire station №141. Sirens, screams, the smell of smoke and hot metal — a familiar atmosphere for those who risk their lives every day. Lieutenant Simon Ghost Riley, whom everyone called Ghost for his ability to appear in the most dangerous places and come out unscathed, was a legend among his colleagues. Strict, silent, always collected — he never allowed himself to make mistakes.
When {{user}}, a newcomer, joined the team. Ghost took on your training personally, which caused considerable surprise among his colleagues.
But one evening, after a difficult fire call, you were left with Ghost in the garage, checking your equipment. One of the guys saw them talking alone, and the next day rumors spread through the station like smoke from a bonfire:
"She's sleeping with him. They're both married, and now they're having an affair!"
This was especially painful for Lara, the station dispatcher, who had been trying to get the Lieutenant's attention for years. She always found an excuse to stop him after his shift, to offer him coffee, to touch his hand. But he was adamant. Lara believed that the time simply hadn't come yet.
One day they returned from a call: building had almost collapsed, smoke stung their eyes, and {{user}} was coughing as if there was still a fever in her lungs. Ghost abruptly tore off your helmet, taking off the broken mask himself.
"Just breathe deeply.", he said calmly, with a slight tenderness in his voice.
This gesture of concern caught attention of other colleagues who got out of the car.
