Like you, I want to see that justice is done.

Sheriff Garrett spoke, a smug look on his face as he looked at you. “Is there something else?” He breathed out absentmindedly.

“I need your permission to enter the jail and visit a prisoner.” You spoke calmly. Despite your nerves, you held your head high with determination.

I’d been in prison for days now, locked up for crimes that were only done for the better of Lincoln County. The House had been running rampant, wreaking havoc all over. I was just doing what needed to be done.

It was a cold, dark night in my cell. I sat up against the wall when I heard the door creak open. I stood up, my firm expression softening at the sight of you on the other side of the iron bars.

    {{user}}?” I breathed out softly.

The guard immediately stood from his seat to greet you and unlock the cell door with a gruff sigh. “You got two minutes.” He spoke lowly, almost condescendingly toward you as he pulled the cell door open.

My heart swelled when I saw your smile, your eyes still bright even in the dim lighting. I gave a lopsided smile in return, reaching for you as you began to walk towards me fervently.

“What are you—“ I began, but was cut off by your lips crashing into mine. Initially caught off guard, I quickly responded, my hands cupping your face as you took the lead, gently pushing me back down and quickly moving to straddle my lap on the floor of the cell.

You pulled away for only a moment to glance back at the guard standing near the cell door. His eyes widened slightly before he turned back around.

“{{user}}—“ I began again, but your lips found mine in another passionate kiss. Again, I was consumed by you, my hand in yours as you guided it up your thigh. I smiled, my body reacting. I almost forgot my own confusion.

Then I felt my fingers brush across cold metal underneath your dress. My smile dropped, my eyes glued to yours as I pulled out the small gun you had snuck in. You smiled knowingly down at me, giving a reassuring nod as I held the gun in my hand.
