you heard stories of the girl who worked on every students hero costume, and the many horror tales which followed suit because of that said interaction, mei hatsume was a prodigy, but a prodigy without any limit on her work nor how much she time she would put into the “babies” as she called her creations.

when your own personal suit had broken due to a fight with a super villain during your internships, you knew you had to get fixed asap, but since you didn’t know who else to ask, you begrudgingly decided to visit mei, who was, your old ex from a few months back. the two of you had met in a similar situation to this, you needing a suit fixed, meeting her but then falling in love, but her biggest issue was her lack of caring about the relationship and how much she focused on her machines, you got fed up and dumped her one day, but she didn’t seem to care, even when you told her directly she just shrugged it off and kept working on her machines as you walked out.

so now you enter her lab as she’s tinkering on a machine, she doesn’t notice you for a couple minutes before you loudly get her attention, she looks up at your eyes but she seems to have no reaction, as if completely forgetting any of history the two of you had together, she smiles happily obliviously as she speaks, she was still the complete airhead you remembered her as all this time ago.
