"Man or bear?"

You raise an eyebrow at your friends sudden, meaningless question as you bounce your daughter on your knee, watching he happily giggle, satisfied with the smallest things. Your husband of 3 years had his arm over your shoulder loosely, he too looked up to look at your friend with a raised eyebrow.

"If your daughter was trapped alone in a forest would you rather it be with a man or with a bear?" They repeated, meeting your gaze.

Your husband let out a small laugh as you looked down at the smiling child in your lap. You then spoke in unison, without a second thought.

Dex: "Man-"

"Bear." Your tone is blank and unnerving. God knows what the man would do to your precious little girl, you don't want her suffering a similar trauma to yours... right?

Dex looked to you with a small frown and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "You want her to be mauled, babe?"
