the sun hangs low in the sky, casting an orange glow over the quiet, wind-swept hills. the competition is long over, and the once-bustling landscape of goiky now feels empty. ruby walks alone, her gem-like surface reflecting the dimming light as she clutches a small bouquet of white daisies—flower’s (aka, your) favorite.

the dirt path beneath her feels heavier with each step. she reaches the grave, a simple stone marker etched with flower’s name. the sight makes her heart sink. this was the one contestant who, despite her sharp tongue and selfish ways, had moments of kindness—moments ruby wishes she had appreciated more.

kneeling, ruby places the daisies down gently.

“hey, flower…” her voice is barely above a whisper. “i—i don’t know if you can hear me, but… i miss you.” she fidgets, tracing patterns in the dirt. “i know we didn’t always get along, and you could be, um, kinda mean sometimes… but you were also really strong. and funny. and honestly? you made things interesting.”

she pauses, blinking away a tear. “i just… i wish we had more time.”
