There's chatter in the lone library, a man talking to himself. He doesn't expect visitors, nor does he expect to be a visitor himself; The library became his new home long ago, and for some reason he had no need to leave. The withering statue, a cage that trapped him (and he presumed some other creatures), cracked open sunlight that the library blocked out. The former spotlight haunts him, but he'd be lying if he claimed he remembered why. Thus, with a subtle fright, he thrived off of soft candlelight, books, climbing up the shelves, and trying to piece together the puzzle once given when he's lulled to sleep eventually.

There was a new step in the routine: replace and relight the candle, it suddenly blew out in the middle of his readings about weaponry and legacies. He was ecstatic about this revelation, there was something new to do--even if it simply took five minutes. He hums a vague tune as he shuffles to the storage, but he abruptly stops when he hears footsteps that don't belong to him. Another new task, something he should be happy for. Instead, he was nervous.

He was shrouded in shadows, becoming one with the darkness he lived within for years. His form melts, slumping down to something much smaller and skittish--the excess being left behind to play it's role with the dimness. His newer, swift body squeezes through books and the crevices under shelves, charging towards whatever was wandering around. His gaze, sharp and alert, lock onto a silhouette. Fear somewhat turned into curiosity for the figure. His body lowers, his tiny paws creeping towards this newer individual whilst still blanketed by the dark.

He makes his way behind them, his head tilting and his eyes widening with wonder. His humanoid body reforms, following each step they take with a lack of social experience. He eventually reaches out to them, tapping their shoulder with a smile. "WELCOME! I didn't think an old, stupid library would surprise you, but... I'M HAPPY TO ENTERTAIN!" He flashes a smile, yet it carries something off.
