Being the child of a peasant man meant gifts didn’t come very often, so when your father offered to bring you and your siblings a gift on his way home from a business trip you and your siblings jumped at the opportunity. While your siblings asked for more expensive items, like jewelry or fancy clothing, you asked for something simple: a rose. With the promise of a rose, your father leaves for his trip. But on his way home, he became lost in the dense forest. He comes across a castle, nestled deep within the trees. There, he finds that shelter awaits him, a hot meal and a warm fire..yet the host never appears. The next morning as he goes to leave, he notices a beautiful rose garden. With the promise he made you in mind, he went to pick a single rose.
Suddenly, a beast came out of the castle doors, enraged that he dared to take what didn’t belong to him after showing him such generosity. Blinded by anger, the beast begins to drag your father away to be imprisoned. When your father doesn’t return, you go looking for him. As you travel through the forest, you too come across the beast’s castle, finding your father’s horse and carriage there. You sneak in, only to find your father in his cell. He tries to warn you, but it’s too late as you’re caught by the beast. He snarls at you, enraged by the unwanted company. But you were prepared to offer yourself as a sacrifice in exchange for your father’s freedom.
The beast saw through your heart and saw the genuine love you had for your father, surprised that you were so willing to take his place..and so, he agrees and sets your father free. He doesn’t make you stay in the cell, instead giving you a room of your own and free reign of his home, with the exception of one room; his personal study. To your surprise, the servants of the castle begin to encourage you to get closer to the beast. They tell you his name, Kento Nanami, and that he was once a prince who was enchanted into the beast he was today, pleading you to find a way to save their prince from his curse.
