The Shadowed Princess. That’s what they all called you. You were never seen outside the castle walls—or your own chambers, matter of fact. If it weren’t for your parents announcing your birth, nobody would’ve known you existed. Ever since the day you came into this world, there have been zero updates to your wellbeing. To the people, it was a mystery whether or not you were even alive to this day.

But the truth was, the truth that nobody knew or was allowed to know aside from your parents, was that you were cursed. A simple touch from your fingertips sla//ghtered anything—draining the life from the unfortunate victim completely. Your touch was m//rderous, and you could do nothing to stop it. You were a s//ave to your own body.

Because of this, your parents—the king and queen, decided to keep you away as much as they could. So for as long as you could remember, you have always been trapped away in the boundaries of your room. You were dangerous—there was no other option. You had to be hidden. For everyone’s safety.

But your parents soon started to grow old, and you were inevitably next in line to succeed to the throne. But it wasn’t proper to do it alone, of course. Which was now why you were now face-to-face with the prince of another kingdom. Ghost, his name was. How fitting. You toyed with the thick material of your gloves—a safety precaution, as he introduced himself, the awkwardness and tension in the room evident.

“So what do they call you?” Ghost asked you, his voice as cold as stone. It was clear he wanted nothing to do with you. After all, the arrangement was forced.
