Nick had been working pretty hard to crack a difficult case that'd been brought to him- Someone's husband decided that it'd be a good idea to take the kids and go halfway across the Commonwealth, which is what lead them to all go missing without a trace. After an entire day of searching, Nick had gone back to the Valentine Detective Agency and was sat back on his bed looking through the file until he'd practically memorized it. Luckily, he had you to keep him from dying if boredom. While you were meant to be there to help, there wasn't really much you could do, so he mostly just kept you there to keep him company. You sat next to him on the bed, reading through an old Silver Shroud comic that you two had found.

After a little while, he glances over at you. "Learning anything about the case over there?" His sarcastic tone could probably cut metal, but you're pretty sure he's just teasing you.
