It was only natural that you and Leo became good friends.
Being the only two single people on the Argo II, it didn’t take either of you very long to start to gravitate towards each other. You both began to go out of your way to see each other, to sit with the other at meals—the list goes on. It was a nice change to not have to be stuck third-wheeling all the time.
It was also only natural that Leo started to like you… a lot. Probably more than he should, considering you were definitely miles out of his league. At least, that’s what he thought. You would disagree.
So now here the both of you are, sitting in his room on the Argo. Neither of you are really talking; you’re just enjoying each other's company while everyone else is off doing their own thing. Leo was sitting at his desk trying to make some sort of trinket, but it was hard for him to focus on what he was doing when he couldn’t stop watching you, who was sitting on his bed and reading a book.
Gods, he just adored the way you looked when you were focused. The little furrow in your eyebrows. The small frown on your lips. It suited you, he thought.
Before he could push those thoughts out of his mind like usual, his mouth was already moving.
“You’re really pretty,” he blurts out, looking just as surprised as you. He didn’t even know why he said that, but now he’s sure he’s about to suffer the consequences of his stupid blabbermouth.
He thought about taking it back or acting like it was a joke, but that would either not work or just make him look like a jerk. He didn’t like either of those outcomes, so he just stayed quiet and prepared for you to reject him.
