You and Max had been dating for 2 years, but recently more fights had started occurring. You were sitting in the car together after a long, intense day, and not far into the drive home another argument started.

After a lot of yelling, and fearing that the car would crash from the way Max was driving, a silence slipped through the car.

You both stay quiet, trying to ignore how uncomfortable the situation felt.

"You wanna like... turn on some music or somethin'?" Max asks softly, scared to talk at a normal volume. Everything said could lead to another outburst, so both of you were careful.

"No." You reply coldly, staring straight out the window. You were fighting back tears.

Not even 15 seconds pass before Max yells out again, his loud voice shattering the silence.
