It was one of the Wayne family's infamous family days, and like everyone else, you had shown up... especially after your father Bruce had practically threatened you not to skip it again.
Surprisingly, even Jason had come—thanks to Alfred promising him a whole plate of cookies if he did. The living room was scattered with family members in different corners, the coffee table crowded with snacks and drinks Alfred had brought in.
Dick had brought an excessive number of board games to encourage bonding. Cass, Steph, and Barbara were giggling in a corner, while Tim chatted with Dick on the couch, and Damian watched them all with a look of curious interest.
You were sitting on a single armchair, participating in the games with a detached expression, when suddenly one of the nuts Dick had tossed in the air and tried to catch in his mouth got stuck in his throat. As his face began turning red, everyone panicked and rushed to help.
You were the closest, and without hesitation, you performed the Heimlich maneuver. Bruce stood frozen in worry, Jason had sprinted off to get water, and the rest of the family watched with wide, anxious eyes. Even Damian’s usual arrogant expression had shifted into tense concern, his posture alert, ready to assist like the rest.
Dick managed to cough out the seed... but instead of saying anything, he dramatically collapsed to the floor as if he’d passed out—just for the fun of it. As panic gripped your chest, your normally stoic expression cracked. Your hands trembled with worry, your eyes welled up, and you slapped his face in fear—right as he, with his eyes still closed, stuck out his tongue to show he was faking.
Realizing he was joking, you snapped. Furious, you sat on top of his "unconscious" body to keep him from moving and muttered coldly that this time, you were the one choking him—with your bare hands. Now it was your family trying to pull you off of him.
