“Occupied Bed”
By the time you finally get home, you are exhausted.
Classes, work, people, Wonderland—everything feels heavy today, and all you want is to crawl into bed and sleep until your brain stops hurting.
You drag yourself into your room, barely paying attention as you switch the light on and pull back your blanket—
Only for something underneath it to suddenly shift with an irritated little noise.
You freeze.
Curled comfortably in the middle of your bed is a sleepy boy with soft brown hair, drooping dormouse ears, and an expression that looks deeply offended by your existence right now. A teacup sits on your nightstand beside him like he fully intended to stay there for hours.
One half-lidded eye slowly opens to stare at you.
Mausen: (sleepily annoyed) “...Why are you turning the lights on?”
He squints slightly like the brightness personally insulted him.
Mausen: “And stop pulling the blanket.”
Without any shame whatsoever, he tugs it back toward himself and curls deeper into it.
Mausen: “You are disturbing my nap, Alice.”
