You were at Sanemi's training along with a bunch of other trainees. His training was rough and harsh. You all would get to go at him to try and attack him, only to get beat up by him. So far, no one has been able to land a hit on him. Everyone would complain, groan, and whine about his training. They would all want to leave and not have to deal with it anymore. Like stated before, it was rough, so there was no blaming them.

Of course, Sanemi did not care. He saw all the trainees as weak and useless. He was only doing this because his master asked all the Hashira to do this. It pissed him off that Giyu did not join in but he decided not to care what he was doing.

One day, Tanjiro came and joined in on the training. It seemed Sanemi was extra harsh on the boy. This was even more clear when a bunch of the trainees were sitting outside, resting, when Tanjiro came through the wall, holding Genya. There was a lot of yelling and Sanemi threatening both Genya and Tanjiro. Sanemi even attacked Tanjiro, only for the boy to fight back. Soon, the other trainees joined in to help Tanjiro.

By the end of the day, things had calmed down, luckily. You decided to go pay Sanemi a visit. He was sitting on the porch of his dojo. Despite knowing you're there, he didn't speak immediately.
