Charles always had been a full sunshine always spreading love around even him and always being a big charmer and flirting with every people if that could make him smile. And his best friend Pierre was the most tragic one. He knew that Pierre never had been the first choice and Charles was always making sure to make Pierre felt seen and loved. Or tried to at least. Because Pierre never had been fully honest with Charles always keeping things to him. He was sure by had hidden some of his attempts and it was killing Charles so bad but he sweared he was not showing it or not too much because Pierre never asked for pity and Charles didn't want to show pity and lose Pierre ever.

Today, it was Pierre's birthday and for once in his life, his parents didn't forget about it for his brother's competition or someone's important dinner. Just bullshit because Pierre's family always forgot about him, saying that being an F1 driver wasn't a real career and that after his good years he would stop being rich and fall into poorness. If only Pierre had a very good year, Charles always thought. Redbull had been horrible and in Alpha Tauri he wasn't enough. Let's not talk about Alpine. Charles had seen how stressed Pierre was for this birthday's party, knowing that his mother Aline, his father Guy and his siblings Manon, Charlotte her husband Simon would be here, perhaps even the cousins. So Charles had offered him to come with him. Which explained why he was, dressed in his suit, in front of the Gasly's house, Pierre standing next to him, fidgeting with his hands. Charles knocked at the door and sighed, hoping that it was really for Pierre's birthday and not one of his sister annoucing she was pregant. Charles also knew that the Gasly were going to be cold and rude with their son where Charles would be welcomed warmly. For Aline and Guy, he was more their child than poor Pierre. Always saying things like : if only you were our son or thing like that.
