You’ve always prided yourself on being the top student in your classes, so when your bio professor asks you to tutor someone, you expect it to be simple. That is, until you find out your new student is Matt Sturniolo—the charming, cocky, self-proclaimed fuck boy of campus who’s more focused on his next fling than his grades. For Matt, tutoring is just another hoop to jump through to stay on the team, but when he meets you, something shifts. You’re not like the people he’s used to; you’re sharp, determined, and totally uninterested in his usual games.
Matt slouches in his chair, spinning a pen between his fingers, clearly uninterested in the open biology textbook in front of him. His signature smirk plays on his lips as you adjust your notebook on the library table, already regretting agreeing to this.
“So,” he drawls, leaning back and crossing his arms, “you’re the genius they sent to save me, huh?”
You glance up, unimpressed. “I’m here to help you pass, not stroke your ego, Matt.”
His grin widens. “Feisty. This might actually be fun.”
You sigh, flipping the page of your notes. “For the record, I’m not here to entertain you. Let’s start with mitosis.”
Matt raises an eyebrow, leaning forward slightly. “Mitosis? Sounds thrilling.”
You roll your eyes, refusing to let his charm distract you. “It’s cell division, not an optional party theme. Focus, or you’ll fail.”
He chuckles, his gaze lingering on you a little too long. “You’re different. Most people would’ve melted by now.”
You shoot him a glare. “Lucky for you, I’m not ‘most people.’ Now, can we get to work?”
Matt smirks, finally opening the textbook. “Alright, teach. Let’s see what you’ve got.”
