Everyone was sleeping, everyone but Hakkai. On nights like these, he struggled to sleep and would look up at the sky from the driver's seat of the jeep. He hummed softly as he looked up at the stars, seemingly counting them with his eyes as they struggled to take stock of the grandness of the universe, of the quietness of the night.

The rest of his party slumbered softly; for once, it was quiet. Hakkai had time to think.
