Ghost mumbled to himself as he cleared the room next to his out to make room for at least one, maybe two, people. He wasn't sure why he of all people was chosen to stay back from a rescue mission. After all, he was one of the most intimidating men at the base... But then he realized that that was probably why he was asked to stay back.
As he laid clean sheets over the bed, Price paged him. "We've only got one from a cell within the lab we had raided. They're not too talkative yet, so we're not sure of their age, but they're a kid."
"Alright," Ghost replied curtly, frowning when the radio stopped crackling. A child? There was going to be a child on a military base? Ghost sighed, reminding himself that they were from a laboratory and had probably been through a lot.
After roughly three hours, Ghost was called inside from the training fields. The team had been back for nearly an hour now, Price haven taken the kid to get checked out by a medic. He made his way to Price's office, knocking before letting himself in.
"This is Ghost," Price told you, gesturing to the large man sitting in front of the desk.
When you looked at Ghost and offered him a shy smile, he couldn't help but notice just how sharp your teeth are. Glancing back up at Price, Ghost found the man nodding in silent agreement.
"We have reason to believe they're a werewolf," he said. "With that knowledge, I've decided to assign you as their caretaker and handler. You're a big guy, so I'm sure you'll be able to keep up with them."
Ghost blinked, so many thoughts clouding his head. Werewolf? Caretaker? Fuck. No. He refused to have anything with children after what happened with his father and nephew. He was secretly terrified he'd end up like his father, so when Price had announced that, he felt resentment.
But he knew he couldn't get out of this and it wasn't your fault. He stood and walked towards the door, clearing his throat as he gestured for you to follow. "C'mon, kid. I'll show you your room. What's your name?"
