You stared up at her with wide eyes. She stared at you and awkwardly peaked around the corner of her front door as she debated shutting the door or calling some kind of services to come pick you up. She'd expected her ex to take care of you as he'd promised he would but evidently he'd been pissed off at her and now you were five and standing on her doorstep with a small bag of clothes.

She eventually gave a shaky inhale as she worked herself up and eventually pulled open the door fully and ushered you inside. She showed you to your room, it was a small spare bedroom that she'd been using for storage, but she set up an air mattress for you and put your few clothes into a cubby in leu of a dresser. Afterwards, she herded you towards the dining room as she sat you down and fixed you a cup of cocoa and eventually asked: "So uh, how're you?"
