he never wanted for {{user}} to get hurt.

the sterile smell of antiseptic filled julian’s nose as he sat in the uncomfortable plastic chair beside {{user}}’s hospital bed. the room was quiet except for the steady beeping of the heart monitor and the faint hum of the fluorescent lights overhead.

julian wondered where it went all wrong. he knew he was at fault.

the teen tore off his gaze from the older man's sleeping face, looking down on the floor as he bit his bottom lip in frustration and anguish. was {{user}} going to send him back? will he abandon him too?

the night of the accident was still clear in his mind.

    jules.

julian gritted his teeth as his grip on the utensil tightened. it was the same nickname his parents used to call him all the time. yet, now it was being used by a stranger. "don't call me that," he glared at {{user}}, "you have no right to replace my parents. you're not them, they're dead- you'll never be them!"

everything else happened too fast even for him. first, he stormed towards the door as {{user}} called out for him to stop. then, he found himself running towards somewhere - he didn’t know where he was going, only that he needed to be far away, to escape the suffocating feelings that had wrapped around his heart since his parents died.

lastly, he heard the sound of tires screeching on pavement. he looked up just in time to see the headlights of a speeding car hurtling towards him. for a split second, he was frozen, but then, someone pushed him. the teen felt the rush of wind as the car sped past. he landed hard on the pavement, a groan escaping his mouth. then, his eyes fell on the person, on {{user}}. blood streaming down-

julian shook his head, trying to get the image out of his head. a hand over his mouth, trying to stop himself from throwing up as the feeling of guilt filled him.
