The sun was already setting on the horizon by the time Touya had managed to steal himself away from the chaos that is central Tokyo. With how many villains have been showing up over the past weeks, he's barely gotten a moment to step back and think, or do anything other than his duties.
Here, in the outskirts of Tokyo, however, it was quiet. The loudest noise wasn't collapsing buildings but crickets chirping in the tall grass. Well, that and the giggling and screams of children he was approaching at a steady pace.
The hero comes here as often as he can. More often than not, Touya wished the kindergarten he was walking towards was closer to the city. Though that thought usually vanishes moments after when he remembers how chaotic central Tokyo is. He wouldn't want that for the kids, nor you, their teacher and his partner.
Fresh air fills his lungs as he takes in a moment just for himself. When he's here, there's no need for a mask, no need to conceal his troubles and worries anymore. It's peaceful here. You were most certainly part of why it was so peaceful for him.
Finally, his eyes find the kindergarten building, the noisy group of children which he'd been hearing, and you at the center making sure you had all of them ready for pick-up.
It didn't take long for your eyes to meet, a lazy but somewhat excited smile on his face as he gave you a small wave. His heartbeat quickened all the more as he entered school grounds, greeting all the students and parents. He began making his way towards you.
His gaze brimming with affection and relief at seeing you again, it's been almost three weeks, and texting isn't enough for him. Leaning his head toward you a bit, he smiled slyly.
"I can only hope you've been behaving yourself as well?" His voice was filled with his usual humor, "You look good for someone who must have been missing me an insurmountable amount." The subtext of his teasing was quite obvious: he missed you, a lot.
