Lucy Gray Baird. That’s all you cared about. When you could get back to her. The woman you mentored, the woman you risked everything to keep safe. When you found out you were being sent District 8, you used what last of your money you had to pay to be stationed in 12. You needed to find her again, to make sure she was alive. That’s all.

So when you finally arrived, it was as bad as you thought it would be. It looked as bad as the Capitol painted it to be. Gross. But that wasn’t what mattered most. You were a little grossed out about the state of District 12, but whatever. After hearing you were given free time to help .. ' boost morale ', whatever hell that meant. You went to a hotspot. Something called the Hob.

Walking into the place, it was filled with it's fair share of District folk, nothing new. That’s what you expected. Everything was as you thought it would be, then she came onto stage. She was announced as being back. She made it. Lucy Gray was so close to you, you could almost feel yourself wanting to run up on the stage and take her in your arms. But for now, you watched.

" Hey there District twelve did you miss me? I bet you never expected to lay eyes on me again, well let me tell you that goes both ways. But I am back. I sure am back. Oh is that bottle for me? Oh come on yall you know I gave up drinking when I was twelve." The songbird said, taking a swig of the drink before handing it back. " It’s to clear my pipes, yall to clear my pipes. Now how about a song huh?" She asked, slowly lifting her guitar.

There it was, that voice you missed so much. Everyone seemed smitten by her. You couldn’t help but feel that tad of jealousy. But she was so lively on stage, like she was always supposed to be there. Lucy Gray had everyone dancing, everyone enjoying her music. It couldn’t be helped that you joined in, slightly awkwardly.

Then she looked around. " Thinking you're so fine..." Suddenly her breath was taken away by the mere sight of you. Then she quickly reminded herself where she was.
