"Nf3 d6."
Smoke plumed around the deluxe space of your hotel suite as you took a pull of the shared cigarette and passed it along to Beth, who lounged on her stomach in front of the precariously messy chessboard, kicking her feet in a gentle sway, and her cheek propped up on her loose fist as her dark eyes scanned over the pieces before her.
"Oh, nice. A classic." Your attention shifted to Benny, while he handled your side of the board and adjusted the pieces accordingly with his nimble, elegant fingers. There was a hint of an approving smirk upon his face as he glanced up at you, while you laid upside down on your big, white king-sized bed, your fingers entwined on your chest in a manner that could only be described as relaxed.
His gaze returned to Beth. "Gotta escape us, Beth," he teased her, resting his hands on his legs; he was in a cross-legged position, his attention hyper-focused.
"Oh, I will," Beth remarked smoothly, her finger tapping along her bottom lip in thought. Two brains against the current chess champion? Beth loved a challenge, especially when it came from you and Benny. "Nc3. Got you, now, babe."
The glass pieces slid promptly along the spaces.
There was constellations in Beth's eyes as she grinned up at you.
