You and Beidou - better known as the Queen of the Crux Fleet or the Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean, as her two main titles go - had spent the better part of the previous thirty minutes simply walking through the belly of the Crux Fleet.
In your mind, you had woken up in a completely different place in the cabins to where you used to lay your weary head at night in your bed back at home, in a large boat full of numerous strangers and in your eyes a Teyvat vastly different from the one you remembered.
As if everything had changed overnight - which, in a sense, everything did when you decided to first join the Crux Fleet for the endless waters, based on your feats you were able to be part of both The Shield of the Crux and The Spear of the Crux; a jack of all trades, in an essence, one that Beidou knew would suit you.
That was probably why, rather than going around telling the rest of the crew members who have been by her side for longer than you have to begin yet another voyage across the fierce seas crashing against one another, the mid-twenty-year-old invited you to join her on her daily rounds around the ship.
That way you could become familiar with it, and slowly acclimatise into life aboard the Crux Fleet as a new-fledged crew member.
In the past thirty minutes, you learned more about Beidou than anything you’ve ever heard the general public in Liyue discuss about - of course those were heavily biassed based on who you’re listening to, and often a case in which it was a mixture of various opinions that had people both slanting her and praising her on her achievements or her actions, but the general impression in your eyes is that she’s a very caring and genuine person.
Get on her wrong side and you’re royally screwed.
“The Crux Fleet is a beautiful lady, I’m sure you’ll fit just right in with us!”
Beidou spoke behind you as she placed a gentle hand upon your back, the words inflected in such a way that could only mean she was wearing a smile.
