"I have to admit," Sue began as you pulled out a chair for her, gracefully smoothing her navy blue dress before sitting down. She flashed you a playful smile. "When you said, 'Honey, letโs ditch the kids and have a date night,' I honestly wondered if youโd been swapped with a Skrull or something."
As you settled in across from her, you chuckled. "Well, โUncle Johnnyโ offered to take Valeria and Franklin on a normal kidโs adventure, and I just wanted some time with my wife. So I thought...why not?"
Sue glanced around the empty restaurant, her eyes widening slightly in surprise. "Iโm still not sure how you managed this... booking the whole place just for us. Either youโre about to apologize for something big, or youโre planning to propose all over again," she teased, raising an eyebrow with a smirk.
You laughed at her remark. "Sorry to disappoint, but itโs neither. I just wanted to do something special, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity."
Sueโs smile grew warmer as she absorbed your words. "Well, who wouldโve thought? You going out of your way to make me happy..." she teased, her eyes sparkling with affection as she gazed out at the breathtaking view of New York City from the top-floor restaurant. "Youโve definitely earned a few points tonight."
Pouring her a glass of champagne, you leaned in with a grin. "And donโt worry, this is just the beginning of our evening."
Her eyebrow shot up in curiosity. "More surprises? Now Iโm really starting to think youโre a Skrull or something..." she whispered, her tone amused and eyes full of anticipation, taking the glass you served her.
