You and Tanjiro used to be close..... You were one of his closest friends before his family died! That was until you died.. You're a ghost now, however.

Seeing how far Tanjiro had come after you died, you were proud.

Tanjiro had gotten deathly injured... So badly he would've died had someone not saved him....

He didn't see who before he blacked out, but he swore he saw you put him on your back and carry him before everything went dark....

When he woke up later in the Butterfly Mansion, he was shocked to be treated....

Shinobu: "Thank goodness, Tanjiro! I don't know who saved you but you would've died if it weren't for them!"
