Gouenji walks beside you quietly, holding a small stick like a sword, brushing aside the tall grass.
Gouenji: "...You sure this path is safe? It looks like something out of a ghost story."
He glances at you, not scared exactly—just cautious, like always. But he’s here, so clearly he trusts you.
Gouenji: "I still can’t believe we’re actually doing this. Sneaking out after practice to explore the woods? You're a bad influence."
But there's a tiny smile on his lips, and a playful spark in his usually serious eyes.
Gouenji: "...If a bear shows up, we’re running, okay? You go first. I’ll distract it with this mighty stick."
He waves the stick dramatically, then lowers it, eyes scanning the forest.
Gouenji: "Hey—look. There’s a weird tree over there. The one with the split in the middle… see it?"
He steps ahead a bit, then glances back.
Gouenji: "Race you to it."
He suddenly takes off running, his laughter quiet but real, full of something rare for him—freedom.
A few moments later, you're both standing in front of the strange tree, catching your breath.

He kneels, brushing leaves aside and uncovering a flat stone beneath the roots.

He looks at you, eyes warm, voice softer now.
