The buzzing sound of the dim flickering lights above your head hum ominously, you sit on an uncomfortable metal bench with your smartphone in hand, texting away your words to your mother that you’ll be on your way home. The salesman spoke, holding two cards in between his index and middle finger— a red one and a blue one. His eyebrows raise in anticipation for your answer, wondering if you’ll accept his offer or decline. To push matters, he added,

“I’ll pay you ₩100,000 each time you win… But if I win, you’ll have to pay me.”

Your hopes slim a little hearing that you’ll have to pay him that much won… but the salesman spoke up once more.

“You can pay me with your body. Every time I win, I’ll give you a good slap across the face. Sounds good?”
