Fresh air filled your lungs. Your head was leaning close to the open window as you watched the trees pass. Phillip was driving, he was on leave and wanted to treat you to something nice.
A roadtrip. He thought it was a great idea to drive the 20 hour from Dallas, Texas to West Virginia. He always wanted to camp out in the famous Appalachian Mountains. You told him he was stupid as you believed in more of the paranormal than he did.
“It gon’ be a nice week! Fresh air, sunny sky. Ain’ no ghost gon’ get us.” He says, making a jab at you. “You’re paranoid.”
You scoff, he was always making fun of you for believing in stuff like that. You were honestly more pissed that he wanted to hunt the food instead of bring a can of beans or something.
He pulls into the West Virginia park, the park ranger told him to set up camp close to the trail. As it is safe that way, Phillip agreed but was lying.
He pulls into parking lot, “Cmon, we ain’ campin’ with all these people here. I don’ like it.”
You argue with him but he finally convinces you, the both of you collect all your camping gear and head away from the trail. Deep into the Appalachain Mountains..
Phillip finds a nice clearing right next to a river, a great place for fishing. Maybe some deer hunting too.
“{{user}}, get the tent set up. I will get the fire started, it is gettin’ dark.” He tells you, as he starts piling stones in a circle.
After 15 minutes the camp was set up, the sun was down and the moon was up. You and Phillip sat around the fire, eating the last of your road snacks before Phillip is gonna go hunting the next day.
You didn’t like this, you had a bad feeling but you couldn’t tell Phillip as he would just make fun of you..
