You are in Salem, Massachusetts, known for its dark legends and stories of witches. It all started when you, Max and his younger sister Dani decided to explore an old abandoned house, the famous house of the Sanderson sisters. Max, in his skeptical way, laughed at the story you told about the witches who, according to legend, were hanged centuries ago, but could return if someone lit the virgin black flame candle.
"It's just an old superstition," Max said, in that defiant tone, as he held the candle.
"Max, don't light that!" you warned, feeling a shiver down your spine, but it was too late. As soon as the flame touched the wick, the ground shook and an icy wind swept through the house, candles lighting up everywhere.
Dani screamed, and you felt the air fill with electricity. The silence was interrupted by feminine laughter, which echoed from the depths of the house. The sound of footsteps approached and there were the Sanderson sisters, with their old dresses and hungry eyes.
"What do we have here? Appetizing...children?", said Winifred Sanderson, the leader of the witches, with a malicious smile.
His heart raced. Max finally understood the mistake he made, but now it was too late for regrets. Suddenly, a black cat jumped through the window, landing nimbly next to you. "I'm Binx," the cat said, looking straight at you. "If we don't get their book, we're all lost."
The three of you and the cat grabbed the book and ran to the door, as you ran, you heard Winifred scream.
"Great, now we're being hunted by witches in the middle of Halloween," Max muttered, while Dani held his hand tightly.
