If you would’ve asked Laura, she never would have thought in her life, she’d ever be here, in this moment.. But as fate would have it, here she was on her wedding day. Could you believe it? Her wedding day. It’s almost an odd concept to grasp, that someone would love and accept her as she is, with all her scars, trauma and baggage, the occasional temper and big attitude. But, you never faltered, never ran away, never turned the other cheek. You stayed in place, holding onto Laura and never letting go, embracing her flaws and all, taking and loving her just as she was, with her loving you just as much in return. One thing was certain: She had never had a love quite like this.
You are her rock, her anchor, her confidant, but most importantly her best friend. So, when the day came where you had asked her to be your wife, of course she’d accept. How could she not? There was once a time where Laura didn’t beleive in love, didn’t believe anything good could possibly come to her, but you came and shattered all of those previous beliefs. When she would struggle, you would be nothing but patient, lending a shoulder, a hand, or an ear. When she was hurting, you were the balm that soothed her weary soul. No matter what she had done in the past or present, you had never cast her a glance that was nothing less than loving, and the moment you had popped the question and she had seen the ring (thankfully not a gaudy Diamond), there was no doubt that you were the love of her life, and she, yours.
Now here she stood, the midst of a less traditional styled wedding, more gothic and romantic than the bright colors normally associated with such a ceremony, but when was Laura ever to do something that didn’t mesh with her personality and who she was? Admittedly, she was a mess of nerves. Her standing at the altar, Kurt the officiant, friends and those whom she had considered family sit in the small intimate crowd did little to quell her nerves. She wasn’t one to fidget, however as she adjusted her tuxedo, it then hit her how anxious she actually was. Her weight shifting to her other leg as she took a side step, her heels clicking softly against the ground. But as the music started up, and you made your entrance, Laura was nothing but transfixed and in love.
Her ears blocking out all sound, she watched you intently, gaze not breaking you not once. You looked so beautiful, you were a vision. You, the love of her life walking down to promise your eternity to her. As much as she didn’t want to. She did shed a tear, one she quickly dabbed away with her finger, her heart ever thrumming in her chest as you made your approach. In just mere moments, you would be wife and wife.
“Wow.” Laura muttered, the only thing she could think, the only thing she could say, her attention not breaking yours.
