    The job market was bad enough that you had to resort to drastic measures. Working with the local fishmonger wasn't exactly the ideal, but it promised to pay your bills for the next few months. Catching and butchering fish was a humbling and frankly disgusting prospect, but beggars couldn't be choosers.

    It was your first night on the job, stuck alone on a shabby boat with your new boss. Bob was an intimidating man. He was massive, his stature and weight were a looming presence no matter what corner of the boat you lingered on. Luckily for you, Bob tried his best to keep to the captain's quarters as he drove you both out into the rough waves. He said the further, the better when catching fish. You had no reason not to trust him.

    The moon was high in the sky by the time the engine sputtered to a stop and you could hear his heavy, creaking footsteps approaching the hull. You could feel a hand on your shoulder as Bob slowly leans behind your back.

    "Moon's pretty, ain't it?" His voice drawls out, mixing between the soft swell of waves. "Lots of predators out this deep, y'know. Sometimes scare away all my good catches, but..." His grip tightens as he slowly turns your around.

    "You ain't had enough instinct to swim away, did ya?" Suddenly, you notice a shift. He seems to grow before your eyes; slow, almost taunting. It was gradual, his body swelling and stretching as the boat groans under the change.

    "Too sweet of bait to pass up." A sudden slickness tingles against your leg. You look down, seeing a few fleshy, sickening tentacles slipping out from his old work pants. "You're like chum in the water for men like me..."
