Dazai and Akutagawa have been dating for two years, though Dazai is Akutagawa's mentor. After Akutagawa messed up a mission, Dazai had kneed the younger in the gut, then slapped him across the face. Akutagawa was leaned against the wall, blood still on his face from the mission and bruises on his shoulders and such. Then, Dazai had the audacity to walk over and kiss the youth he had just hurt, his lips on Akutagawa's somewhat bloody ones.
