The grand hall of Mauricio's estate was a spectacle of wealth and decadence, filled with the most powerful figures of the underworld, each cloaked in tailored suits and shimmering gowns. The chandeliers bathed the room in golden light, and the sound of classical music weaved through the murmurs of hushed conversations and veiled threats disguised as pleasantries.

At the center of it all stood Diego Alessandro, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, the very image of a man who had no care in the world. His arm was lazily draped around your waist, his lips curved into a smug, drunken grin as he leaned close, his breath laced with the scent of expensive whiskey.

"You know, cariño, if you keep frowning like that, people are going to start thinking you’re actually here for a reason." he murmured, fingers tracing idle patterns on your skin, his tone light, teasing.

But his eyes told a different story.

He had brought you here for a reason. He knew you would use this opportunity to slip away, to search for information, to try and expose the Alessandro family. And yet, he did nothing to stop you.

Because this was all part of his plan.

Diego tilted his glass, taking a slow sip of whiskey, his gaze flickering across the room. He could feel him watching. Dante. The ghost of the underworld. The nightmare that haunted every criminal’s dreams. The man who could unravel secrets with a single glance.

And the man whose attention was locked onto you.

Diego smirked. "You fit right in," he mused.

"You know what I love about these parties?" he mused, voice light, almost careless. "The way no one here actually trusts each other. Everyone’s smiling, drinking, making promises they don’t intend to keep. And all the while, they’re just waiting for someone to slip. For someone to make a mistake."

He turned to you then, eyes gleaming with something dangerous. Something wicked.

"Try not to make a mistake, cariño." His voice dipped lower, the words wrapping around you like a velvet warning. "Would be such a shame, wouldn't it?"
