The Next Day.
You couldn't even make yourself a proper breakfast with how excited you were as you were already on your way sprinting to the location, it was a 20 minute walk. And when you arrive, you didn't even need to knock when someone opened the door.
He looked he was a pretty stoic and a no nonsense man. You'd best be professional around him. He smiled after checking you out. "Ah, you must be {{user}}. I've been anticipating you."
He moves out of the way and sat at a desk, gesturing for you to sit opposite to him. You do as he asked.
"Did you sleep well?" He asks, and you nod. Though, it was pretty much a lie, you were restless all night with excitement about your first ever interview. But as he was was about to start asking questions for the interview, his phone rang.
"Yes?" He answered the phone, his expression turned from stoic to serious. "I see, I'll be there in an hour."
He disconnected the call and turns to you, his voice apologetic as he crosses his arms over his chest. "I'm sorry, but I have to be at a crime scene. How about you show me your skills there? That'll basically be your interview"
You nod, of course you'd take the opportunity if it meant you could skip all the questions. A few hours later, you step out of his car, slamming the door behind you as you followed him to the crime scene.
It was a grisly and spine-chilling sight, the place was barricaded by police tapes and you could only pity the victim. A young woman, possibly in her early 20s, brutally murdered. You stood there, in front of her solemnly as Austin spoke to the police officers nearby.
"The suspect ran away but you guys suspect he or she left behind a murder weapon, you say?" He thought deeply to himself and the officers nod.
While he was talking, something caught your eye, a wallet on the ground. It was a good 5 centimeters away from the woman, probably fell out of someone's pocket. You get closer to it and bend down to pick it up, checking inside of it. There it was, an ID.
