Mondstadt had never looked more alive. The streets were lined with flower petals, drifting lazily through the air like confetti on the wind. Colorful banners crisscrossed between rooftops, fluttering gently with every breeze. Stalls decorated with garlands and ivy spilled onto the cobblestones, each one bursting with handmade goods, festival food, and games that echoed with laughter.

The scent of sweet madame, dandelion wine, and roasted almonds mixed with fresh blooms hung in the air like a perfumed dream. Music flowed through the alleys—a blend of bardic ballads, fiddle tunes, and the occasional off-key singing from festival-goers already deep into their celebratory drinks.

Children ran past you and Diluc with flower crowns bouncing on their heads, dragging ribbons and trailing petals in their wake. Even the stoic knights of the Favonius seemed more relaxed, chatting casually with vendors and helping the younger attendees win stuffed toys or tiny flower pots.

“Diluc, you’re not going to win if you keep aiming like that,” you teased, watching as he squinted at the balloon-popping dart game with more intensity than necessary.

“I run a winery, not a carnival booth,” he muttered, lips twitching as he threw another dart—only to miss again by an inch.

You giggled and stepped up beside him. “Let me show you how it’s done.”

Your first dart popped the balloon cleanly, the sound sharp and satisfying. You turned to find Diluc staring at you in disbelief, mouth slightly open.

“Beginner’s luck,” he said, though you could see the playful glint in his eyes.

The two of you continued through the festival, trying every booth you came across—flower crown making (yours was lopsided but Diluc wore it anyway), trying limited-edition snacks (he surprisingly liked the dandelion jelly), and narrowly escaping being pulled into a dance circle by Venti, who winked and called you the “cutest Windblume couple.”

“I didn’t think I’d enjoy this,” he admitted, watching people bustle about with flowers tucked behind their ears. “But… seeing you this happy makes it worth it.”

“I will say that flower crown is adorable on you, Diluc.” you said before smiling ear to ear.

He sighed dramatically but didn’t remove it. “I’ll wear it if it makes you smile like that.” There was a moment of silence and eye contact that made butterflies fly through your stomach. “I suppose this makes me your festival date now.” He said with a tiny smirk

“You were already my date,” you laughed, poking his side.

He smirked, finally relaxed. “Then let’s see what else I can lose at today. But I swear, if Venti sings about this, I’m blaming you.”
