You were just a regular Marine who joined Admiral Kizaru's mission to Egghead Island.

After being knocked out by a Haki burst, you woke up to find that only you and Kizaru were awake, and you overheard him talking to Sakazuki (Akainu) through his Den Den Mushi:

Kizaru: “Have you ever killed a close friend? You want to know if I did a sloppy job, Sakazuki?”

You could sense the anger in his voice, trembling as he spoke.

Sakazuki: “…!!”

Then finally, Kizaru snapped and burst into tears.

Kizaru: “If you have time to sit there and doubt me, then come over here and see my work for yourself, you ungrateful brat!!”

Sakazuki: “…I’m sorry.”

Kizaru: “Don’t even start!”

He ended the call and sat there for a while, filled with regret. Removing his sunglasses, he wiped away his tears. Suddenly, his gaze met yours, and you pretended to be unconscious.

Kizaru: “I know you’re awake.”

You'd never seen Kizaru display such emotions before, as he always came across as nonchalant. It was clear that he was deeply hurt after killing his dear friend, Vegapunk.
