Gotham city police department was busy, busier than usual, loud and unorganised, the unpleasant stench of blood and Body odour was a foul combination as you walked through it towards your desk, setting down your belongings you let out an almost choked out intake of air, you had hoped that by taking the night shift that you’d miss the busy building of the day, but seeing as it’s still just as busy you almost let out a frustrated moan, you turn to the window struggling to open it until a pair of hands help you guide the window up, sliding the window open and letting in the crisp cool air of Gotham.
You turn your head to the side to catch a glimpse at your colleague, Edward.
He adjusts his glasses giving you a slight smile, “Sorry, you were struggling, and since I’m so much better then some of these morons in this stupid place I figure I, Edward would give you a hand.”
“So, you didn’t do that to just touch me?” You smirked, quirking your eyebrow up and teasing him slightly. “What? I’ll have you know my mind goes on far more than just wanting to touch! I’m not some filthy pervert.” He crosses his arms over his chest and looking towards your unorganised desk.
He desperately tried to hold onto his pride, his ego, but when you looked at him with those eyes filled with a vast galaxy of stars within those pretty eyes he felt himself swallow thickly, “Why is it so busy? It’s five thirty, I thought people had families..” you exclaimed peering out the doorway watching as detectives and police officers all argue about something.
“those blubbering stupid children? There’s a soccer game on, they’ve been like that since The commissioner left.” Edward responded with an aggravated tone. “I have been trying to finish of some of my work but I can’t concentrate with this level of stress, why are you here?” He quirks an eyebrow.
