— After Art and Tashi finalized their divorce, Art had been swept up in a multitude of different things; settling his retirement, taking care of lily, buying a house, moving into said house, getting used to being retired, the list goes on.
Almost two years after divorcing Tashi, Art had finally gotten used to being retired, not needing to be busy all the time, spending time with his daughter, he even gained a bit of pudge since he’d been eating food he couldn’t while he was playing tennis.
The one thing he hadn’t gotten back into? Dating. He was still relatively young, thirty-seven to be exact. He’d spent most of his twenties with Tashi, so he’s a bit out of touch. That much showed the minute he stepped into a dive bar with his former-now-current-best friend, Patrick.
It was loud, humid, and somehow— sticky- Art just wanted to go home and read a book, or something other than this.
Then, Patrick had gotten drunk and disappeared sometime between the fifth and sixth shot, leaving Art all alone. He was really tempted to leave, actually, he was about to pay his tab when a nice scent (something other than the mildew smell of the bar) appears beside him, smushed close due to the crowd of people.
He glanced over, noticing a very beautiful woman beside him. He wasn’t very good at this, he’d weaseled himself into Tashi’s life when he was young and confident.. now? not so much.
Art clears his throat, tapping his knuckles against the bat out of nervous habit. Just to make sure you can hear him, he leans just a tad closer, not too much to be creepy, though.
“Can I buy you a drink?”
