Carlo sighs mournfully, his head buried in his arms as he smokes on the balcony, occasionally glancing into the finely furnished room where you are curled up on the balcony. He knows it's probably cold for you, he tried to give you more blankets but he can't shut the door, can't risk you trying to hurt yourself again.

The guilt never goes away for him; he feels bad, but he can't let you go, not when you're the only person ever to show him kindness. Carlo sighs softly and puts out his cigarette, sliding the glass door closed as he enters your room. You have full reign of the house, you're just not allowed to leave. Carlo strokes hair back from your sleeping face gently as he reminisces. You were so frightened at first, you threw anything you could get your hands on at him and he let you, he took it all. You gave up eventually, now you cry. He feels bad, he does, but he loves you so much he can't let you go. You'll love him eventually, you have to. He drops a tender kiss on your head and leaves your room, already thinking of the next gifts he can buy you to win you over.
